Garfield L. Miller - British Columbia, Canada
Raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Garfield Lindsay Miller has worked as an independent filmmaker in Canada and the US over the last six years. In 2003, Garfield was awarded a CFTPA/Global Television mentorship with the May Street Group through the Canadian Film & Television Production Association.
Garfield's involvement with the May Street Group continues to this day as he serves as co-producer on a number of documentary projects. Currently, he is wrapping up production with Executive Producer, Hilary Pryor, as co-writer and co-producer on The Fires That Burn, a one-hour documentary for Vision TV. The project features the life and work of Sister Elaine MacInnes, a Catholic Nun of 50 years, and one of Canada’s foremost experts on Zen meditation.
Garfield is on the board of directors for VIFPA (The Victoria Film Producers’ Association), CineVic (Victoria’s Independent Film Society) and is a founder, and the Chair of Open Cinema, an organization dedicated to screening social documentaries to foster community discussion.
For A Moment on Earth Garfield captured a slice of the good Canadian life, and the off-the-cuff wisdom of rising Jets Overhead. Not to be missed. |
